What technology does it use in its construction?
The Der Kaiser comes in Continental's proprietary Black Chili compound as standard, delivering unprecedented levels of grip, rolling resistance and longevity, paired with either of the two casings on offer tailoring to your discipline. DH 6-Ply casing with APEX reinforcement for the harshest of terrains where protection is prioritised over speed, or the Enduro 4-Ply casing with ProTection Apex reinforcement, where reliable puncture protection is offered without significantly increasing weight.
What is the intended use?
Developed and used by the UCI World Cup and EWS athletes, the Der Kaiser is designed as an Enduro and Downhill allround race tyre, better suited to drier conditions performing best on a mixture of terrains. The ramped leading edges of the centre knobs provide good rolling speed, whilst delivering phenominal braking traction both descending and in turns, thanks to the tall shoulders of the aggressive tread pattern.
